Title VI Grants

Required Services

• Parts A and B – Nutrition and supportive services.
• Part C – Information to caregivers about available services; assistance to caregivers in gaining access to the services; individual counseling, organization of support groups, and caregiver training to assist the caregivers in the areas of health, nutrition, and financial literacy, and in making decisions and solving problems relating to their caregiving roles; respite care to enable caregivers of a frail elder to be temporarily relieved from their caregiving responsibilities; and supplemental services, on a limited basis, for caregivers of frail elders to complement the care provided by caregivers.

How to Apply

Title VI grants are issued for a three-year grant period. The current grant period is 2023-2026. During these three years, no new applications are accepted. Any future funding opportunities will be published in the Federal Register and will provide details about available funding, as well as application instructions.

Spending Your Funds

See our Title VI Spending Guide below for a list of allowable expenses. However, please note that any single supply or equipment purchase over $10,000 requires ACL approval, so be sure to complete the Large Purchase Request Form below and submit it to your Regional Administrator (RA) prior to purchase.

Title VI programs can apply for the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) grant, also referred to as the “Tribal MIPPA Grant.” Funding from this grant can be used to provide at least one community announcement and one community outreach event to help counsel and assist eligible American Indian, Alaskan Native, or Native Hawaiian elders interested in receiving the Low-Income Subsidy (LIS), Medicare Savings Program (MSP), Medicare Part D, and Medicare prevention benefits and screenings.
